Strawberry, AZ

What do you see?
David had all the Olson cousins obssessed and looking for bugs by the end of our weekend with them. We always saw David with his bug cage in hand and a dozen cousins (old and young) following behind him everywhere he went.

New Editions...

The Clark house never expected to have more!!!
"Ms. Bernard" was expecting and we did not even know.

Zions Camp wildlife

These are the animals and wildlife that we ran into on our trip to Williams for our "Zions Camp"
It was pretty fun in the Grand Canyon, the squirrels are very brave. Then when one tried to steal my sandwich, my ice cream, and my soda at the same time. I don't like brave squirrels.

Don't know what kind of cricket this is, but Tiffin is glad they stay up north.

May Campout in Rocky Park, AZ

We went to Rocky Park again this year, which is just south of Flagstaff, AZ. This was the place last year were we found all those AZ Tree Frogs. There were so many last year, the ground was covered with them. This year, there was nothing close. Maybe a few tadpoles. But, as Clarks do, we found some pretty cool stuff. Enjoy...

Gage with his Papa and what looks like a Goiter Oak.

The one frog we found.

Great Plains Skink

Some sort of weird albino cricket.

Jett with his new friend.

Gage holding the Garter Snake

Close up of the Skink

Southwestern Fence Lizard aka Bernard

Giant Diving Beetle larvae, it looked like the bug from Men In Black.

Creepy water spider.

My new work pet

I recently moved to a new part of my building and got a new desk. I went to clean it out and found this little guy.

Its a bark scorpion and he was pretty big (for a bark scorpion).

And yes, he is alive. I guess they find 3 or 4 a week on this side of the building. They drop from the ceiling. Fun!

Brother's Campout

Last weekend we went on a campout with just the men in the family. We missed you Jay and Thayne. It was fun that Nathan was there to do the hard work digging.

We had a pretty good day on Saturday with the wildlife sightings.

Thank you Bryan for all of these great shots.

Ground Snake 1

We found him on the ground.

Desert Iguana Deluxe
Nathan dove for him like a scene from a movie. It was great.
Ground Snake 2 Close-up
We let him go on the ground.

Chuckawalla 1
I have to test the bite of every lizard great or small.

He may be a vegatarian, but he bites like a carnivore.

Chuckawalla 2
Another diving catch by Nathan.

Rattle Snake

(not sure on the type)

Jumping Cactus and my shoe

Some crazy looking bugs.

Scout training

We did a scout leader training campout for new leaders in our stake over the weekend and I taught the section on wildlife identification. This is what we found under a rock about 3 feet away from the ramada. I took this with my camera phone so the quality is low.
He was not happy in our re-location efforts.
